Programs Description:

Book Club:

We’ll be reading Cruising Utopia: The Then and There of Queer Futurity by José Esteban Muñoz in conjunction with this exhibition. We have 10 free copies, courtesy of NYU Press, available to the first ten people to commit to joining both discussions. The audiobook is also available through the Chattanooga Public Library.

Inside/Outside:

Inside the Art, Outside Ourselves is a series of workshops that each invite you to spend time reflecting on a specific artwork from our main exhibition, accompanied by video interviews of the artists with the work. Through guiding prompts and conversation, we encourage you to dig deeper into the work, think meaningfully about the ideas presented, and to respond with drawing or writing exercises. Artists to be featured include: Aaron McIntosh, Angie Jennings, & Yu Yan.

Wildflower Garden:

Join us throughout the exhibition in growing a wildflower patch in the Stove Works courtyard! Seeds, generously donated by Reflection Riding & Wild Ones Tennessee Valley, are available in the Stove Works entryway.
