In our everadaptive digitized worlds we become grossly aware of the lives and the culture around us. Perfectly curated feeds dampen the way we learn about cultures, and vibrant identities around the world become easily digestible fractions of consumerism. How do we position our identity amongst our subjective view of others and others’ conception of us? Do we tend to conform to these thoughts or distractions, or do we try to reject these misrepresentations? Looking past the surface can deepen people's understanding about one's identity. People have this parasocial view about what makes up a culture and are quick to misrepresent things they don’t understand. Now more than ever, it is important to share without shame, educate without fear, and understand without offense.
