Love Is Strong As Death asks: What do you think love is? What does that mean for how you live? The show invokes the wide-spanning political and social implications of love’s power for radical personal transformation through works on paper, a participatory installation, a lending library, and conversation-based public events.

The works include intaglio prints of quotations on love’s radical potential, drawing from bell hooks, James Baldwin, Sappho, and others, using an experimental gunpowder-based printing ink. This explosive ink makes literal a militant love that burns through fear, hierarchy, and enclosure. The exhibition features a participatory love letter altar, which visitors to the exhibition are invited to contribute to directly.
