Meacham Zine Workshop with Fellow Jasmine Tabor

Join us Saturday the 9th from 1 to 3 pm for a zine workshop with UTC Meacham Fellow and Artist in Residence Jasmine Tabor. We'll provide materials, so just bring yourself and a friend. No previous zine experience is necessary!

Jasmine Tabor (they/them + tw: @poetjasmi) is a Black queer writer from the deep south and a graduate Mellon Mays Fellow and Edith A. Hambie Poetry Prize Recipient of Spelman College C'21. They write about healing, mourning, and the praxis of transformation; they juxtapose Black childhood and elderhood through photography and writing. Jasmine is a dreamer and, in being so, they spend a lot of time reconnecting with their childhood self by spending their conscious hours walking through dreamland. Their dreams consist of writing when it's inconvenient, quiet mornings spent with the stereo turned down low, and solemn art. Works appear (or are forthcoming) in/on Poets.org, Agnes Scott Literary Journal, Abolition Feminism Journal, Stellium Literary Magazine, among others.
