Lost and Found: Performing the object in the everyday

We live in a material world populated by consumer goods and objects. How do we relate to them with our body and mind? What kind of relationships do we develop to navigate our world? The central objective of this workshop is to learn how to construct performance works in liaison to objects and materials found in our everyday lives and immediate environments. Utilizing historical and contemporary principles of interdisciplinary practices, the workshop facilitates a platform for rigorous experimentation, in which the body, objects, and time intermix to create works of live art. Participants will be introduced to a variety of mediums, techniques, and approaches to a mixed media performance practice within contemporary context, initiating a deeper connection to the mundane and the plentiful resource it can provide.

Participants are asked to bring two small objects from their immediate environments.
